Pizza Barn History -The Pizza Barn was a beloved local establishment in Elk Grove, California, that first opened its doors in 1974. Founded by Doug and Jean Berner, it quickly became the first and favorite pizza parlor for residents in the area. The restaurant was known for its homemade pizzas made with generous toppings and fresh dough, as well as its friendly, family-oriented atmosphere. The Pizza Barn was more than just a place to eat; it was a community hub where locals gathered to share meals, celebrate events, and create lasting memories.

After Doug and Jean separated in 1991, Jean became the sole proprietor and continued to operate the Pizza Barn until 1999, ensuring it reached its 25th anniversary. Despite closing its doors, the Pizza Barn left a lasting impression on the Elk Grove community, remembered fondly for its quality food and welcoming environment. The building that housed the Pizza Barn was demolished in 2004, but the memories of its vibrant presence and the warmth it brought to the community remain cherished by those who experienced it.
